Singaporean jazz artist Rudy Djoe to perform with Rahimah Rahim at upcoming digital showcase

Homegrown crooner Rudy Djoe will team up with one of Singapore's most celebrated singers, Rahimah Rahim, to present a unique rendition of 'Rasa Sayang Eh' at his digital music showcase later this month.

Titled "Dari Kalbuku (From My Heart"), the online show will see Rudy perform original songs from his 2016 album of the same name as well as reimagined versions of iconic Malay and Indonesian tunes, including the aforementioned folk song.

Together with Rahimah, Rudy, who has performed at UNESCO International Jazz Day, the 7th Ramadhan Jazz Festival, as well as the Rock With Us online charity concert, will fuse the catchy melody of 'Rasa Sayang Eh' with elements of pop and jazz.

Additionally, the duo will deliver a jazz and ethnic Malay cover of the traditional Minangkabau (West Sumatra) song, 'Titian Nan Lapuak / Mengikat Janji'

The special concert will also feature a quartet led by jazz composer and improviser, Aya Sekine, and local musician, Syafiqah A’dha Sallehin.

Stream "Dari Kalbuku" for free on YouTube or Facebook at 8 PM on 27 February. English subtitles will be included.
