Sobs unveil infectious title track from forthcoming album 'Air Guitar' — listen

Sobs are back to give fans a taste of their forthcoming new album, Air Guitar.

On Friday, 7 October, the Singapore-based indie pop outfit returned with the dance-inducing lead single from their highly-anticipated project, 'Air Guitar', as well as a bonus cover of Gwen Stefani's 'Cool'

The first release from the trio since their 2018 album Telltale Signs, 'Air Guitar' is described as a song for the "post-internet listener" whose sound fuses elements from genres such as bubble-grunge, power-pop, and sk8er punk.

Lyrically, the number — which is brought to life by the distinctive bright vocals of frontwoman Celine Autumn — is a rumination on interpersonal differences as well as how we perceive ourselves.

An accompanying music video for the song was released on YouTube on the same day. Helmed by Edward Khoo, it delves further into the issues explored in 'Air Guitar'.

Sobs' nine-track album Air Guitar is slated to be released via American indie record label Topshelf Records on 26 October. In what is shaping up to be an exciting month, the trio will also stage a live concert (as part of Esplanade's Mosaic Music Series) at the Esplanade Annexe Studio on 21 October. Tickets are available here.
