Celebrate Hari Raya at Sports Hub this May with performances by Sezairi and Shazza, cultural showcases, and more

Celebrate Hari Raya at Sports Hub in the coming month.

The Sports Hub will host a plethora of family-friendly Hari Raya festivities featuring Malay traditional performances, cultural experiences, hands-on workshops and much more on 4 and 5 May.

Fans of Sezairi and Shazza will be treated to not only live performances but also meet-and-greet sessions with them. During their sets, the homegrown artists will infuse beloved Hari Raya songs with a modern twist.

Shazza, who teamed up with Canadian pop duo Crash Adams for a viral collaboration, will grace the stage on 4 May. Sezairi, best known for his hit single ‘It’s You’, will perform on 5 May.

Aside from the musical performances, visitors can enjoy enthralling cultural showcases that celebrate the rich beauty of Malay traditions — from traditional Malay dances and Kompang ensemble renditions to a Silat martial arts demonstration.

Visitors who appreciate a more hands-on approach can look forward to activities like henna art or even batik painting and modern and Arabic calligraphy workshops.

Performances and activities are free of charge and will take place on both days from 2 PM to 9 PM

There will also be photo opportunities at the Raya pop-up installation at the Water Sports Centre. From now till 19 May, visitors will be able to snap pictures in front of an artistic backdrop.

What’s more, Singapore Sports Hub has partnered with National Gallery Singapore for the first time to bring Raya to Sports Hub. Featuring artworks by Singaporean and Southeast Asian talents, the Roving Art Truck will be displayed partnered with National Gallery Singapore for the first time to bring, from 10:30 AM to 5 PM on 4 May as it heads towards OCBC Square. Visitors will get an opportunity to learn and engage with the National Collection’s artworks and take part in activities such as colouring fans with Raya motifs.
