“The One” was a customised song written for the Mediacorp blockbuster drama “Genie In A Cup which begin airing in Singapore on 18 February 2022. The drama producer from Wawa Pictures requires a love ballad which will be used for a three-over-minute dance scene between the main male lead and female lead that ultimately led them to fall in love with each other. The love ballad also needs to illustrate subtly the relationship between the two of them prior to the dance. In the drama, whenever the male lead faces challenges, the female lead is always there like his North Star and lucky star to provide guidance. During the male lead’s company charity ball, he picks up his courage to invite the female lead for a dance which like all fairy-tale like show, they became the centre of attraction on the dance floor. They also immerse themselves romantically in the dance and fall in love with each other.
