The Aliwal Urban Art Festival returns this year for the seventh edition of its annual celebration of urban art and youth subculture. Inspired by street culture, the festival offers a vibrant burst of visual art, dance performances, alternative music and skateboarding that will challenge your preconceived notions of subculture and street art.
Curated by SGMuso, Urban Sounds, the music component of the festival, boasts a small-but-diverse range of local artists who will join the celebration at the festival this Saturday, 18 January. The event will feature the beloved cult trio, Mediocre Haircut Crew (MHC), Thai R&B crooner Pyra, emergent rappers BigDBangla and TengyBoy and Youtube sensation Preetipls.
Urban Sounds happens at The Aliwal Arts Festival, on Saturday, 18 January, from 6pm-10pm, at Aliwal Arts Centre. Admission is free. Visit aliwalartscentre.sg for detailed set times on the day itself.
