This is a splendidly encouraging indicator of the inroads that Made in Singapore music is making internationally: BIGSOUND 2019, the esteemed Australian music industry showcase crucial to breaking out head-turning Australian talent, has added three local acts to its lineup. Its upcoming 18th edition, that happens on 4 September in Brisbane, will feature .gif, Caracal, and Lincoln Lim in a uniquely Singaporean showcase, Hear65 @ BIGSOUND.
The significance of BIGSOUND to pop culture is evident in some of the gems it has uncovered over the years: Flume, The Temper Trap, Rufus and Courtney Barnett, to name just some. Past Singaporean performers include Intriguant, Charlie Lim, Linying and The Steve McQueens.
To have Singaporean musicians chime in on this legacy is indeed an honour. Each of the aforementioned local artists will perform for Hear65 @ BIGSOUND.
The announced acts will also perform in Sydney on 1 September.
Hear65 @ BIGSOUND will take place at Ric's Big Backyard at the BIGSOUND Festival in Brisbane, Australia on Wednesday, 4 September.
