Dutch electronic duo Yellow Claw unveiled a new single on Friday, 11 May which features Singapore's very own Tabitha Nauser. The track, titled 'Crash This Party', will be featured on the trap duo's upcoming third album, New Blood.
Yellow Claw are currently one of the biggest names in the international Electronic Dance Music (EDM) scene, having performed at festivals such as ZoukOut, Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Ultra and more. The duo have collaborated with the likes of other EDM elites such as Skrillex, Tiesto, DJ SNAKE and more.
Tabitha Nauser got her start in 2009 when she competed in the third season of Singapore Idol, where she placed as the second runner-up. Since then, she has represented Asia at the Youth Olympic Games 2010 where she sang the event's official theme song. She was also selected to sing the theme song for 2015's SEA Games. Tabitha released her first two singles, 'Bulletproof' and 'Body Language' in 2017, and performed at the 2017 Singapore Grand Prix.
In December of 2017, Tabitha met Yellow Claw when they were in Singapore to perform at ZoukOut. The meeting was thought to be a one-off meeting between a couple of musicians, until a couple of months later when eagle-eyed fans noticed that she had appeared in Yellow Claw's Instagram feed and that she was in Holland recording a track with the duo.
The track, while short, does a good job in highlighting Tabitha's vocal prowess. Her voice is powerful and clear, showcasing how much she has improved and grown as a singer since competing in Singapore Idol. She leads the song through its simple yet melodic verses while Yellow Claw's signature trap drops hit mid-track, reminiscent of their claim to fame with 2014's 'Till It Hurts' which follows the same recipe.
The video heavily features Tabitha and is set in Bali and Jakarta. Check it out below.
