Fever's celebrated Candlelight Concerts series is back in 2025 and music lovers can expect to be mesmerised by classical renditions of tunes from beloved films, hits from some of the biggest names from the international music scene, and more. This year is all about tributes to legendary music soundtracks in movies and dramas by the likes of Hans Zimmer, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran & more.


Chloe Chua / Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto

With spirits as high as her rising fame, Tchaikovsky’s glorious Violin Concerto is the next virtuoso vehicle of Singapore’s brightest violin star, Chloe Chua. Bernard Hermann’s score for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 classic Vertigo grips you from the onset, gradually transforming chilling fear into poignant resolution. Directed by SSO Associate Conductor Rodolfo Barráez, this programme also offers Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis, with no let-up from its arresting opening all through to its exhilarating conclusion worthy of grand cinema.


The Theatre Practice presents Partial Eclipse Of The Heart《逆光》

Every decade, five friends reunite at the same seaside chalet—under the shadow of an eclipse—to reflect on their lives, from youthful recklessness to adult reality. Told with humour, heart, and a heavy dose of nostalgia, this brand-new jukebox musical captures the growing pains and enduring friendships that define Singapore’s journey. Featuring beloved Mandopop hits from icons like Stefanie Sun, Tanya Chua, and Jimmy Ye, plus a brand-new song by Xiaohan and Julian Wong, the production stars Joanna Dong, Derrick Hoh, Ric Liu, Jean Seizure, and Chriz Tong. Directed by Kuo Jian Hong with a story by Jonathan Lim and Ng Mun Poh, it's a heartwarmingly irreverent celebration of life, love, and the melodies that never leave us.


SMU Arts Fest 2025

SMU Arts Fest 2025 is set to take over the city campus from 22 August to 28 September, transforming it into a vibrant stage for youth-led creativity and bold original music. Themed "2560" in honour of SMU’s 25th anniversary and SG60, this year’s festival promises a dynamic slate of performances. Highlights include MAD The Musical (26–28 September), an original production inspired by Bras Basah’s forgotten histories with music by Jimmy Ye and direction by George Chan; COMMISSIONS (11 September), a genre-blending concert by the SMU Chinese Orchestra featuring new Singaporean compositions and regional instruments; and Live, Laugh, Lor (29–30 August & 5–6 September), a lively campus showcase featuring student music and dance acts from all eight Singapore universities. Don’t miss Return of RE:TURN (20 September), where SMU Eurhythmix fuses heritage and hip hop in a full-length dance show.


hi we are rathmock EP launch

Local comedy trio rathmock are inviting fans into their wonderfully weird world with an EP launch show happening at Room 526 on 23 August. Known for their chaotic musical energy and the slogan “rathmock likes to make music fun and make fun music”, the band promises a night of unpredictable covers, head-spinning genre mashups, and songs from their debut EP hi we are rathmock — which dropped back on 1 April. Joining them are fellow genre-bending acts vylt (horrorsynth), fxtrt (math rock), and nosedive (dreampop), setting the stage for a show that’s either comedy gold or a glorious trainwreck — possibly both.


shazzafest: HAPPY, WRETCHED & TERRIFIED

Celebrating the release of her new album HAPPY, WRETCHED & TERRIFIED, shazza is launching a one-of-a-kind album launch and indoor block party experience with shazzafest that will be held on 24 August. The event will feature exclusive performances by shazza alongside her band, with support from artist and producer ICEBOX and many other surprise guests. The event also includes many different booths that sell items and provide services, from cookies and drinks by MIJ Hub, and artisanal scents by Sifr Aromatics, to poetry by Graceful Quills, and skincare tips by Bareness Skin — there's definitely something for everyone at shazzafest


Rediscovering Chinese Music

As part of SG60 celebrations, Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) presents the Rediscovering Chinese Music concert, which pays tribute to the early pioneers who overcame challenges and laid a strong foundation for the evolution of the Chinese music scene in Singapore between 1950s and 1970s. Curated by Phoon Yew Tien, conducted by Mike Chiang and performed by Chang Chun Chinese Orchestra, this concert seeks to rekindle the spirit of perseverance and dedication shown by these pioneers by recreating the artistic essence of the early days of Chinese orchestral concerts with ensemble pieces, instrumental solos, and vocal performances.


Sun Bleached // Salt Beached

Sun Bleached // Salt Beached
is lighting up Sentosa's Siloso Beach on 30 August with Singapore’s first-ever battle-of-the-bands style music festival. Organised by youth collective Mirrorchol, the festival places the spotlight on university bands such as Checkpoint from NUS, Beeeech Pls from NTU, Final Hour from NTU and See You At Seven from SIM to battle it out beach-style. While rocking out, Explore fun pop-up booths brought to you by some of your favourite local brands. music lovers can alsio look forward to guest performances from Parkway and rising star Elisha Danielle. Party all night long with with DJ Chingz, DJ Miggy T, and DJ Domino as they take over for the Salt Beached after-party event and dance along to your favourite 2000s to 2020s club bangers.


ARCANE MORPHOSIS

ARCANE MORPHOSIS: A Night of Extreme Metal is the inaugural showcase by Promethean Arts, spotlighting the raw, unrelenting spirit of Singapore’s underground extreme metal scene. Headlining the night are local legends Rudra, veterans of what they self-describe as “Vedic metal”—an incendiary blend of blackened death metal, Sanskrit chants, and Indian classical motifs. Supporting them are DARAH, a death‑metal force known for searing riffs and thematic intensity, and Poison Void, a three‑piece delivering visceral old‑school death and black metal aggression—all coming together for an intimate, intense night of sonic carnage curated by Promethean Arts.


Chamber Charms: Virtuosic Winds

SCO's Wind Section returns with Chamber Charms: Virtuosic Winds, presenting a vibrant showcase of Chinese orchestral classics that highlight the expressive power of wind instruments. Featuring pieces such as 'Theme of Pioneers', 'Grand Prelude', 'Farewell at Yangguan', and 'Autumn Yearning at the Dressing Table', the concert captures the lyrical beauty and dynamic energy of traditional Chinese winds, promising to captivate audiences once again after its 2021 premiere.


Bunker By Night

Bunker By Night is an ongoing experimental performance series that transforms the historic Battlebox into a unique space for music, performance art, and immersive experiences. This collaboration between Battlebox and SAtheCollective returns for the Singapore Night Festival 2025. This year’s edition, The Hollow Remains, is conceptualised and curated by Andy Chia, transforming the underground war bunker into a chamber of sound, memory, and ritual. Day 1 presents Descent as BlackLight Tribe leads a bass-charged ritual of subcultural resistance. Day 2 reveals Emergence: A wireless headphone experience of immersive soundscapes featuring Gelap (Andy Chia, Andy Yang, Ezzam Rahman), Natalie Alexandra Tse & Marla Bendini, Very Shy Gurl Collective (Noor Effendy Ibrahim, Rosemainy Buang, Syafiqah 'Adha Sallehin), and the Singapore Butoh Collective
 

Voices of Singapore (VOS) Festival

The Voices of Singapore (VOS) FestivalSingapore's largest non-competitive choral festival, celebrates a historic milestone this year as it returns for its 10th edition, marking a decade of celebrating a Singing Singapore. The Festival presents its most expansive programme yet — five days of concerts, galas, outdoor performances, masterclasses, choir exchanges, recitals and workshops. Themed “Celebrating 10 Years of Building a Singing Singapore”, the 2025 Festival is anchored in VOS’s #SING60 initiative in celebration of SG60. It shines a spotlight on Singapore’s choral heritage through performances that reflect the nation’s stories, sounds and musical identity. The Festival brings together choirs of all ages and vocal ensembles from across Singapore and beyond, celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of the choral and music community.


President’s Young Performers Concert

The Singapore Symphony’s 2025 President’s Young Performers Concert shines the spotlight on saxophonist Dante Tan, clarinetist Chua Jay Roon and multi-award-winning harpist Renee Yadav, three of Singapore’s finest young musicians showcasing their musical finesse in three masterworks from the 20th century. SSO Associate Conductor Rodolfo Barráez champions them from the podium before concluding the programme with Mendelssohn’s effervescent Italian Symphony.


《五行 Wuxing, The Five Elements》

Happening on 28 September at the Island Ballroom, 《五行 Wuxing, The Five Elements》 is a 45-minute multisensory concert by The TENG Ensemble, featuring music therapist Evelyn Lee. Audiences will experience the performance while lying down in a Ba Gua-inspired formation, guided through traditional East Asian instruments, monaural beats, and calming meditation. This one-of-a-kind event is a collaboration between Shangri-La Singapore and The TENG Company as part of the hotel’s 50th anniversary celebrations.


Ancient Moon, Present Light

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with Ancient Moon, Present Light, a festive concert by the SCO under Associate Conductor Moses Gay. Part of the Mid-Autumn Family FUN series by SCO and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, the evening features beloved tunes perfect for all ages and a special performance of 'Zhang Zhao’s Moon Song' by zhongruan musician Ngeow Si Ming Jonathan, offering a joyful and educational musical experience for families and friends.


Hits of Classics by Singapore Chinese Orchestra

Hits of Classics 2025 returns with a fresh new format, inviting audiences to vote for their top 10 favourite titan composers in the Chinese orchestral world. Principal Conductor Quek Ling Kiong will bring their most iconic works to life in this special concert, jointly presented by the SCO and Lianhe Zaobao.


Taufik Batisah: One Last Dance 

When: 25 October 2025, 8PM

Taufik Batisah: One Last Dance is not just a concert. It is a moment of gratitude. After years of collaborations, awards, and chart-topping releases, this concert is Taufik's personal thank you to the fans who have supported him from his Singapore Idol days to today. The show will feature a specially curated setlist of fan favourites across both his English and Malay discography, reimagined with new arrangements, visuals, and storytelling elements that reflect the artist he has become. With the possibility that this may be his final full-scale solo concert, One Last Dance promises to be an emotional and powerful celebration of music, legacy and connection. 


Chamber Charms: Virtuosic Bowed Strings

Chamber Charms: Virtuosic Bowed Strings returns after its 2021 premiere, showcasing the expressive beauty of Chinese bowed strings with SCO huqin masters Li Baoshun and Zhao Jianhua. The concert features beloved works by Liu Tianhua—including 'Song for New Year's Eve', 'Towards A Bright Future', and 'Hymn of Idleness'—alongside favourites like 'Nostalgia', 'Farewell at Yangguan Pass', and 'Ballad of Yubei', performed in both ensemble and erhu solo formats to stir the soul with every bow stroke.


Yan Huichang and Singapore Chinese Orchestra 2025

Following last season’s rousing success, Maestro Yan Huichang returns with another captivating concert featuring his signature repertoire made famous by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. This performance includes the Singapore premiere of 'Tang Resonating' by Hong Kong composer Ng Cheuk Yin, as well as Pipa Principal Yu Jia’s rendition of Zhao Jiping’s 'Pipa Concerto No. 2', also premiering in Singapore.


Sing60 Music Festival

The Sing60 Music Festival hits Fort Canning Park on 6 and 7 December, marking 60 years of Singapore music with Benjamin Kheng, Charlie Lim, Mavis Hee, Shye, Dru Chen, Glenn Yong, Iman Fandi, Shabir, and many more; plus reunion sets from A Vacant Affair, Caracal, and The Great Spy Experiment, just to name a few. Curated by Bandwagon, the Bandwagon Sessions stage will showcase top indie and alternative acts performing originals and local covers. The festival also features a vibrant Festival Village co-curated with F ZINE, offering Singapore-made food, fashion, lifestyle products, and design in a lively, marketplace-style setting.


Percussion Rhapsody by Singapore Chinese Orchestra

Showcasing the rising stars of the national orchestra, this concert features homegrown talents Associate Conductor Moses Gay, percussionist Derek Koh, and zhonghu musician Wong Qin Kai. Together, they will present the Singapore premieres of Chen Yi's 'Percussion Concerto' and Wang Jianmin's 'Erhu Rhapsody No. 6', highlighting the brilliance of a new generation of SCO musicians and celebrating the best of local talent.
