When it comes to music, music videos are important supplements to what we can hear as they stimulate our visual senses in a way that sound cannot.
From creative homemade projects to cinematic works that beg to be seen on a big screen, all forms of music videos are released by Singapore's talented musicians seeking to extend the stories told in their songs every month. In this monthly series, we will be rounding up the latest releases from our sunny island that might fly under the radar.

goneMUNE - 'WITH YVU'
goneMUNE leans into glossy irony on ‘WITH YVU’, a deceptively bright pop cut that begins like a classic love song before peeling back into something far more introspective. Built on a playful, almost sarcastic take on bubblegum pop tropes, the track reframes romance as a journey toward self-acceptance, with AVERDONIA confronting their transformation and reclaiming identity beyond codependent ties . The accompanying music video doubles down on this contrast — a nostalgic nod to ’90s Cantopop karaoke visuals, complete with surreal, multi-version portrayals of the character — ultimately revealing a solitary performance that underscores its core message: this isn’t about loving someone else, but learning to stand alone, shine again, and find meaning within.
Charlie Lim - 'Nobody's Home'
Charlie Lim’s ‘Nobody’s Home’ unfolds like a quiet confession, pairing its tender, stripped-back instrumentation with a music video directed by longtime collaborator Jonathan Choo. Set in a dimly lit KTV room, the visual follows Charlie in a tuxedo, singing alone as he sips champagne, pores over old letters, and sits with the weight of memory and absence. The solitude feels palpable, mirroring the track’s introspective pull and emotional restraint. Serving as the first glimpse into his upcoming album DAYDREAM, the single sets a poignant and vulnerable tone.
teem - '2X CHAMP'
Timothy Liew is stepping out from behind the boards and into his own spotlight as teem with the release of ‘2X CHAMP’—a groovy-yet-gloomy indie-pop cut that pairs buoyant production with the emotional weight of one-sided love, framed through the metaphor of scoreboards and trophies. Known for his work as the creative force behind PARKA and as a producer shaping hits for shazza and Regina Song, Liew’s solo project marks a compelling new chapter for Singapore’s indie scene, spotlighting both his artistic identity and the high-calibre, fully in-house production emerging from PARKA today.
Gnaw - 'Gash'
Gnaw’s ‘Gash’ barrels in as a track that captures the creeping weight of aging and internal doubt through relentless, machine-gun drumming and wailing, distortion-soaked guitars. Driven by raw intensity yet grounded in emotional vulnerability, the song sets the tone for the band's outstanding debut EP Inside a Machine That’s Glistening, pairing its sonic chaos with a similarly erratic music video that sees the band chased across Singapore’s dense cityscape, mirroring the track’s anxious, spiralling energy.
Shye - 'Smoke'
Shye returns with ‘Smoke’, a hazy, slow-burning cut lifted from her upcoming album The Doves Came Home, due out 8 May. Leaning into atmospheric indie rock, the track drifts through blurred layers of guitars and synths, with Shye’s vocals melting into the mix to mirror its core theme of emotional detachment—being present, yet feeling just out of reach. Inspired by the surreal imagery of smoke in Twin Peaks. ‘Smoke’ unfolds like a fleeting moment you can’t quite grasp, anchored by the haunting refrain “I move like smoke.” It’s a quietly powerful listen that captures the disorienting feeling of slipping in and out of spaces, conversations, and even yourself—setting the tone for what promises to be a deeply personal and immersive record.
