When it comes to music, music videos are important supplements to what we can hear as they stimulate our visual senses in a way that sound cannot.

From creative homemade projects to cinematic works that beg to be seen on a big screen, all forms of music videos are released by Singapore's talented musicians seeking to extend the stories told in their songs every month. In this monthly series, we will be rounding up the latest releases from our sunny island that might fly under the radar.

Feng Ze - 'SEASONS' Special Clip #1

Ever wondered what a typical morning in the day of singer-songwriter Feng Ze's life looks like? In this first special clip for his song 'SEASONS', the Mandopop artist sings of everlasting love as he freshens up himself at the start of a day and whips up a scrumptious breakfast. It's a feel-good video that shows us that getting up early in the morning can be something we look forward to rather than dread. 


Power Station (TW), JJ Lin- 'THE RELENTLESS'

The sight that you are greeted with in this music video is not that is often seen. Armed with an electric guitar, Mandopop star JJ Lin becomes Power Station's temporary third member as he performs his electrifying new collaborative track with the Taiwanese rock duo, 'THE RELENTLESS'.


Matilde G - 'My Instincts Are Tragic'

Singapore-based Italian artist Matilde G gets vulnerable in the music video for her newest dark pop single, 'My Instincts Are Tragic', a number inspired by her experiences of living with ADHD. Featuring artistic direction from the 19-year-old singer-songwriter, its music video uses dancers and colours to illustrate what goes on inside Matilde's mind. 


Zadon - 'LAMBORGHINI VROOM'

If you are a lover of fast cars (especially lamborghinis), this music video is not one you will want to miss. Starring Zadon as a mechanic, the visual accompaniment to 'LAMBORGHINI VROOM' sees the hip-hop act deliver bars while surrounded by some of the sleekest automobiles you will find. 


Reub - 'To reach a part of your brain'

If you have an eye for cinematography, this is a must-watch. In a heartwarming piece, Reub conveys a deep desire to comprehend his partner’s inner world, expressing heartfelt sincerity through the lyrics “I wanna be there you”. Bathed in warm lighting, the music video features alluring street views, cosy scenes of daily life at home, and more, delicately capturing beauty in the mundane. 


Tanya Chua - '善良的我們 (Learn To Live Again)'

Mandopop star Tanya Chua's moving ballad '善良的我們 (Learn To Live Again)' is paired with clips from the 2024 Taiwanese drama series 不够善良的我们 (Imperfect Us). The music video for the song also features an appearance from Chua herself.


Shye - 'can't you see'

Indie darling Shye revisits her dream-pop sound in her latest single ‘can’t you see’. Crafted wholly by Shye herself, the lyric video features a compilation of short picturesque clips portraying a homely yet intimate glimpse into her trip to Japan.
