Want a quick taste of Singapore's musical talent? Here's an interesting way to get a sense of the varying styles of artists here: listen to four of them cover the same song.

Joie Tan, Shak'thiya, Umar Sirhan and .gif were commissioned to put their own spin on 'We'll Be Okay', an original composition by Jean Seizure (pictured above), who's also a local artist, and the theme song of 20/20: The Temasek Short Film Project, presented by Temasek.

These covers of 'We'll Be Okay' were then used to soundtrack music videos created by students between 14 and 17 years old using mobile phones. The music videos touch on themes such as technology advancement and disruption, as well as social resilience and environmental degradation.

The students were mentored by veteran filmmakers Wee Li Lin (who also directed the video for this year's National Day song) and Ong Kuo Sin.

Joie Tan, Shak'thiya, Umar Sirhan and .gif were all part of last year's Great Singapore Replay, a joint initiative by Temasek and the National Arts Council where emerging artists reimagined Singapore classics of yesteryear.

Bask in the combined talent of these budding filmmakers and our local musicians by watching the music videos below.
