'Abdication' is the debut single from progressive-instrumental band Bowden, consisting of only drums and bass guitar. It is also the last track on their upcoming album 'Agnar of Helmfirth'. Starting off with a melancholic intro, the track traverses and builds up into a heavy chorus, highlighting the intensity of sacrifice for the greater good. It is then brought to a halt, creating a suspense before exploding into a driving bridge section that sends listeners into a state of resolution. The earlier theme is revisited, now energised with zeal before ending on an edge. The final note strikes, and fades away, symbolising the end of the story and album.
