The song is about needing to take a break in a relationship to have some time to find yourself. Are two partners truly meant for each other? Or is their relationship a sham? Answers to these questions can be found during such a break. The song likens that to how a circuit breaker works. Should something go wrong with the circuit, it acts as a temporary break to allow the circuit to reset and for the problems to be rectified. The break could result in the couple growing tighter, or the opposite.
