‘Departure Song’ is a retelling of Singapore’s founding legend, by Singaporean electronic duo whirring. The duo explores the deep-seated fear of travelling into the unknown whilst taking listeners on an epic journey following an imagined reality of Singaporean legend Sang Nila Utama. Taking inspiration from the sounds of the ocean, ‘Departure Song’ takes listeners on a sonic experience through the usage of traditional world instruments intertwined with modern day electronic elements.
