A title as well as lyrics that play on the melancholy and despondence experienced from being stuck in a dead-end relationship, yet ‘Blue’ is carried by the bouncy and rhythmically peppy tune of an acoustic guitar. Still, Haven manages to carry her words with all the softness and gentleness that provides the track a sense of restraint it very much needs. And what are we left with? A piece that offers us just enough optimism to look forward to the light at the end of the tunnel, but with all the bitterness as we realise that hope is never as easy as it looks, and misery will alway demand to be felt.
