The Hear65 guide to gigs you can catch in June 2019

May has come and gone, and with it, a great curation of live music in Singapore. Fret not, though, as the month of June is doubling up on the action with performances from DEON, Krysta Joy, Wukong and more. 

Below, we list down the local concerts to attend in Singapore in June 2019. 


NParks Concert Series In The Park: Rockestra


When: 1 June 
Where: Fort Canning Green

Reaffirming its commitment to delivering outstanding music performances for free in the midst of the lush greenery our Garden City, the festival is throwing back to the golden age of boogie music, with the theme Saturday Night Retro Fever.  

Hosted by Justin Misson, the concert will feature performances by Enigma, Jack & Rai, Jive Talkin', Shagies and The Vibes, all of whom will be bringing forth the grooves and anthems for the best and biggest names in retro.

Intervarsity Jam 2019 


When: 1 June
Where: The Pavilion @ Far East Square 

INTERVARSITY JAM 2019 is the first ever full-scale, full-blown and full-fledged TRI-uni concert, showcasing the top bands from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore Management University (SMU). Feel the passion and flair from the participating universities as they bring to you up-and-coming local bands such as Moggy, Doctor, The Experiments Have Escaped!, Spacecrumbs, -Ful, The Way, Breedlove and O.S.P.O.S.S.

DEON: eulogia; eulogy

Where: Esplanade Recital Studio

Singer-songwriter, DEON, will be launching his third studio album eulogia; eulogy on 1 June 2019 (Sat), at the Esplanade Recital Studio. The show will be performed alongside a full four-piece band, with visual projections crafted by DEON.

In this performance, Varsha will premiere new original compositions, along with the group’s arrangements of classic jazz standards. Adding to its unique sound is veteran guitarist Paul Danial and guest saxophonist Tim O’Dwyer. Don’t miss this inspiring night of music and improvisation!

DBS Busking By The Bay at DBS Marina Regatta 2019


When: 1 and 2 June 
Where: The Promontory @ Marina Bay

DBS Marina Regatta returns to The Promontory @ Marina Bay with high-octane dragon boat races, free sailing lessons, exclusive water sports try-outs, and the largest eco maze in Singapore, over the weekend from 31 May to 2 June.

Enhancing the experience are 15 buskers – from musicians to jugglers – who will be showcasing their talents over the three days, as part of the DBS Busking By The Bay initiative. They will be performing from 6 to 10pm on Friday and Saturday, and 5 to 9pm on Sunday.

JAZZ IT UP! A JAZZY CELEBRATION OF CHINESE SONGS

Where: Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre

Jazz up your evening with the Jazz Association Singapore Orchestra (JASSO) at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, led by Singapore’s “King of Swing” and Music Director Jeremy Monteiro, and Associate Music Director Weixiang Tan.

Enjoy jazz renditions of well-loved Chinese songs performed by singers Joanna Dong, Jasmine Chen and Melissa Tham.
