Voices of Singapore (VOS) has announced two new additions to its artistic leadership, with Gerald Tan and Stephanie Lee stepping into Associate Conductor roles across its youth and women’s ensembles. The appointments mark a key moment in the organisation’s ongoing commitment to artistic growth, representation, and choral excellence.
A familiar name within the VOS ecosystem, Gerald Tan has been appointed Associate Conductor of the VOS Youth Choir. A choral educator, conductor, and cultural advocate, Tan brings with him training in Music Education, a background in Sociology, and professional certifications in Voice, Piano, and Conducting. He has previously worked closely with young singers in the VOS Children’s Choir, where his rehearsals are known for their clarity, warmth, and emphasis on musical confidence.

Beyond the rehearsal room, Tan is also the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Muziksea, a Southeast Asian choral music publisher championing regional composers on the global stage. In his new role, he will support artistic direction, lead rehearsals, conduct selected performances, and further elevate youth voices and Southeast Asian repertoire.
Meanwhile, Stephanie Lee takes on the role of Associate Conductor of the VOS Ladies’ Choir. A conductor, educator, and vocal specialist, Lee has played a pivotal role across both the VOS Children’s Choir and Ladies’ Choir. Her work centres on healthy vocal production, musical literacy, and empowering singers as expressive artists. As Associate Conductor, she will assist in artistic planning, lead rehearsals, conduct performances, and support initiatives advancing women’s choral artistry within VOS.

Together, these appointments signal an exciting new chapter for the VOS Youth and Ladies’ Choirs as they look ahead to a slate of projects in the year ahead.
