Awaken

Awaken is a track with a strong spiritual awakening message in layman’s language, set against a Hip-Hop-esque Pop beat. The production has typical pop sensibilities from the arrangement to the instrumentation. The Chorus adds horns and synths to elevate the energy and contrast the melancholy and self-reflection inducing Verses. I decided to mix singing together with a spoken word section for the bridge, in an “Alien” voice with a cheeky message. Whether the modified voice is speaking fact or fiction, is up to the audience to decide for themselves. I decided to releast it at a time of global uncertainty and the music video helps it to culminate into a strong message to humanity. This is my first release of 2024, after a full year and a half of working on new music, and my previous track “Jungles (Dance Mix)” reaching number 22 on Apple Music’s ‘New Music Daily’ playlist in April 2022. Previously, my unique style of music has met with positive feedback regionally including from MTV Asia, VH1 India and the local press in Singapore, Yangon and India.
