Class Mates

As most of Singapore settles into the year-end festivities, issues of class divide and social-economic disparity in our city state are often drowned out by collective sighs of relief and celebratory cheers. In collaboration with Our Grandfather Story – a digital video publisher dedicated to uncovering timeless and overlooked stories across Southeast Asia, ‘Class Mates’ is an openhearted ode to this commonly overlooked disparity that exists within our modern society. Following the perspective of two wide-eyed students from different social classes, the song is a tender, acoustic ballad that reflects the childhood innocence and consequence that permeates the ongoing social debate on poverty in society.
