“A forest burns, countries on the brink, will I let the news under my skin?” Easily the most intimate song among the current repertoire of Fool’s Decade originals, Numb is anything but quiet. Lyrically it calls one out to action. This is reflected in the production and music arrangement. With a piano that seems just a tad out of pitch, the discomfort is real. With just a little bit of rise and fall and short bass and guitar harmony, it is hopeful that the world can be a better place.
