Lil’ Brown Kid is a self-written, self-produced Hip Hop/Rap EP by Djohan el Din, and tells a story of a young adult grappling between the harsh yet constant realities of life; a literal transition from light to darkness. Lil’ Brown Kid is a seven-track EP with each record containing stories of his struggle and therefore his eventual turn to a grittier persona. Djohan sheds light on his musical journey so far by combining clever wordplay with sample-heavy instrumentals inspired from genres such as jazz and soul. Various themes are hence discussed, including topics that are surprisingly still taboo in today’s modern society; such as depression and racism.
