Matchbox Town

Rae Nadya

Release Date:2025-10-27
Label:KReative Studio

Matchbox Town is the latest album by 15-year-old Singaporean singer-songwriter and independent artist Rae Nadya, who often blends pop-rock, folk-pop, dreamy alternative, and indie sounds. A snapshot of losing and finding herself through writing, the album was written, recorded, and produced entirely by Rae from her bedroom. Built from hope, anxiety, gratitude, angst, and sadness, Matchbox Town reflects Rae’s inner thoughts about herself, people, society, and life, as both an artist and a teenage girl. She likes to think of its ten tracks as houses in the Matchbox Town — from the angsty rock-tinged Cut My Hair, Floater, and Careless Criminal, to the softer sentiments of I Miss the Moon, Liability, and Nauseous, and finally the emotionally charged instrumentations of Leslie is the Girl of Halves, License Plate, and London Song.
