Hear65 Music Reviews: New Releases from Annette Lee, FRGN, Charles ENERO, Vera Tham, and more

Since the beginning, we’ve been reviewing music on Hear65 every week, and now we'd like to break away from this tradition and pass the baton over to you - the listeners of Singapore’s music. If you've ever been itching to share your thoughts about a new track release, or simply want to introduce good earworms to more listeners, then read on.

For the uninitiated, the Hear65 website has a Review Function to help visitors discover and gain greater insight into the music in Singapore. Good music should always be shared, and we are inviting contributions from friends and fans of our homegrown artists.

Every two weeks, the Hear65 team will select 6-8 reviews every two weeks to publish in a Review Round Up article. Just check out the latest releases and submit your review for a chance to be featured.

Here’s what readers have to say this week:

Song For The Underdog - Annette Lee

JY, 99/100: Annette has never disappointed with her music, and her new EP Song For The Underdog takes the statement to a whole new level. Of the bunch, Crossroads really strikes a chord in those who have come face to face with obstacles and at times, also need to be shown the way to get out of the woods. The bridge never fails to hit me, no matter how many times I listen to it.

Me & You - danny

Sydney, 90/100: Sometimes all we need is something simple and acoustic to capture our emotions, and ‘Me & You’ does that exactly. I would serenade someone with this, but not before being able to pull of the haunting yet soothing vocals by Danny :)

Bad - RINES

Jo, 100/100: Bad has a really catchy tune and it’s easy groove around to. Reminds everyone to feel good about themselves no matter how different they may be from others. Love it and love RINES! Wish she could teach me how to be cool like her!

Insane - Vera Tham

Locke, 100/100: Love this song, the entire vibe. It really makes me want to dance and just jump up and down because of how upbeat and catchy it is! The lyrics are so mesmerising and holds so much power in showing the feeling of falling in love. The rapping really ties the whole song together. Great song!

Blue Tick - FRGN, Charles ENERO

Vanessa Tan, 80/100: ’Blue Tick’ really details how dating is like in the modern age, but not without reflecting the thrill of the game. An amazing collaboration between FRGN and Charles ENERO! Hope to hear more in the future!

Daytona - Islandeer

Kyle, 90/100: A feel-good indie rock track that’ll make you feel like you’re in forever summer. Great for easy listening!
