Aliwal Arts Centre will transform Kampong Gelam into a hub of urban art and youth culture on 25 January for the Aliwal Urban Arts Festival, part of Singapore Art Week. The event includes exhibitions, live graffiti, skateboarding clinics, performances, and workshops.
The TAILORED: Bore & Stroke exhibition, curated by The Block A Collective, explores automotive customisation’s influence on art and design, with works by artists like TraseOne and Mad Rat Inc. Interactive sessions include airbrushing with The Big Red Nose and poster design by The Goodnight Gang.

Live graffiti sessions by RSCLS will feature artists like Studio Moonchild (Singapore) and Waris (Thailand). Visitors can join graffiti tryouts or explore Kampong Gelam’s street art through D’TOURS. SkateSG’s clinics and competitions will activate the Aliwal carpark with dynamic light-responsive setups.
The Creators Marketplace, curated by Suave Cartel Media, highlights local artisans with handmade and bespoke items. Performances include weird aftertaste’s experimental music, Avant Theatre’s workshops, and LO:VE, a collaboration between New Opera Singapore and RSCLS blending opera and urban art and many more.
Music and dance take center stage with THE REAL DEAL Showcase curated by Darren “dt” Toh, featuring a multigenerational dance lineup. DJ sets span hip hop, house, and disco, culminating in the Sorry No Cure DJ party.
