Ding Yi Music Company is wrapping up its evocative Disappearing… series with a final tribute to Singapore’s vanishing cultural soul.
Titled Disappearing…Series: The Last Episode, this multimedia concert blends Chinese chamber music, film, and live storytelling to spotlight three dying trades—lion dance head-making, rattan weaving, and Malay songkok crafting. Guided by Creative Director and Conductor Wong De Li, Dedric, and featuring an original documentary by Sandra Sek, the show honours the last torchbearers of these crafts: Henry Ng, Chen Foon Kee, and Hjh Abdul Wahab Bin Abdullah.

Through intricate new compositions by Eric Watson, Tan Yu Ting, and De Silva Alicia Joyce, each tradition is brought vividly to life, offering audiences a powerful reminder: even as time moves on, memory and meaning still echo through the hands of masters.
Catch Disappearing…Series: The Last Episode on 6 and 7 June at the SCCC Auditorium. Tickets from $35 via SISTIC.
