Singaporean rapper Masia One has dropped a phenomenal new music video for her single 'Check Yo Levels', directed by internationally renowned choreographer Laure Courtellemont and featuring Singapore's dancehall community.
The fantastic dancers featured are fromt the AED (Artistic Expression Through Dancehall) Programme 2025, which is a dance and artistic development initiative by Singapore-based female dancehall collective Ragga Waka. Rooted in dancehall culture and the values of expressive freedom, the programme guides local dancers through an intensive journey of growth — combining workshops, mentorship, and collaboration with global artists.

This year's edition culminated in a powerful cross-cultural collaboration with Laure Courtellemont (Cardi B, Will Smith), where the dancers were immersed in an experience that challenged them both technically and emotionally during a week-long bootcamp. This resulted in the music video shoot for the remix of 'Check Yo’ Levels', featuring a Jamaican dancehall icon Bounty Killer.
The video stands as a testament to personal breakthroughs and creative synergy — blending dance, music, and visual storytelling with a uniquely Singaporean bashment energy. Directed by Laure and supported by a team of skilled professionals — including DOP Mohammad Izzadely (founder of A Good Feeling) and music producer Alif Aircho, both with roots in dance— the project elevates both the dancers’ growth and the representation of dancehall in Singapore.
What made this journey even more powerful was the diversity of dancers involved — from newcomers and seasoned professionals to those who have been exploring the genre for years. Despite their varied backgrounds, they moved as one — united by shared purpose, guided mentorship, and a deepening connection to the culture.
To celebrate this collaboration, Masia One dropped a remix of 'Check Yo Levels', which is now infused with a dancehall bounce, radio friendly lyrics and given a new vibe for 2025 by Hong Kong based, Canadian producer CNFMUS (Doja Cat, Edison Chen, MC Hotdog).
