Webisode series Majulah Weekender will see refreshing cross-genre collaborations between local artists and producers

Pop meets rap, hip-hop meets electronic - these cross-overs sound out of this world, but it is exactly what Majulah Weekender is going for.

Majulah Weekender, a fortnightly episode series where local artists and producers team up for the first time to create original songs, will launch its first webisode on 30 July. Organised by Zendyll records, Majulah Weekend aims to provide a platform for cross-genre collaborations with musicians that may not even have crossed paths with each other before.

By expressing their thoughts and feelings through creating a track surrounding the theme of Circuit Breaker, the songs may possibly be something that listeners can relate to.

Majulah Weekender will be aired on Majulah Fest's Facebook, Instagram TV, and Youtube channel every fortnight, with release of the first episode on 30 July. The lineup of pairs will feature the likes of J.SON and BGourd, Jon Chua JX and Hairi Eyes, RIIDEM and Elsa Mickayla, FAUXE and Shye, ending off with DSML and Jean Seizure.

Following the release of each episode, the track will be digitally released on all major streaming platforms on the same day. An EP rounding up all five tracks from Majulah Weekender is slated to be released on 25 September 2020.
