Heartstrings is an internal monologue and can even act as a confession letter from the singer to the person she loves. The song joins the lyrics and feelings together, using metaphors to elicit a stronger emotion when listening to the song. Cheryl Cecilia has managed to show the raw feelings of realizing the signs of being hopelessly in love yet fearing that what they are feeling is not reciprocated. It was written in a tasteful manner with elegance and a good progression, making it easier for the reader to put themselves in her shoes.
