'Baby, It's Been a Long Time' is a working man's love song, of a recently domesticated relationship in all its endurance and tenacity. Always imagined this being played in a post-dinner living room, slow dancing while the world outside slowly dies away. The slide guitar part at the end is recorded using a cologne bottle because all of us forgot to get a slide on the day of the recording. Ended up being a really nice memory of us making spongebob noises in our dorm room. Hope it can mean as much to you as it does for us. Stay safe!

Baby, It’s Been a Long Time is beautifully rhythmic, calming and heartfelt. Its endearing lyrics and instrumentals put one in a slow dancing scene in an 80s movie, with an invitation of love and assurance. The song captures sounds of the past and present in great sincerity, creating nostalgia with a cologne bottle and Spongebob noises (?!?). It is the perfect slow-dancing, hand-holding melody, even for the lonely.
