“Where Monsters Hide” is essentially an ode to how we make our own monsters. It’s a song about that unhealthy self-loathing, self-wallowing phase after a break up, with a touch of Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” - a denial of the truth and a dwelling in a lie.
