‘Fall’ is the debut collaboration between Filipino math-rock artist Gabba and Singaporean singer-producer ALICIA DC — a striking fusion of intricate instrumentation and piercing vulnerability.
Clocking in at just over three minutes, the Francis Lorenzo-co-produced track explores the emotional fallout of a lovers’ quarrel, shifting between ambient calm and rhythmic intensity. “‘Fall’ stood out to me the most,” Gabba shares. “It had this mood and structure that felt like the perfect space for both our styles to blend.”
The long-distance collab — Gabba in Manila, Alicia in Singapore — blossomed through natural creative chemistry. “It felt quite effortless to bounce ideas back and forth,” Alicia says. “Even though this was a remote project... communicating our ideas on how to develop the trajectory of the song was always a productive and fun experience.”

While this is Gabba’s first release featuring vocals, the shift felt right. “It was never like, I want to do a song with vocals,” he reflects. “But with this one, the vocals gave the track a clear direction… especially in relation to Alicia’s lyrics.”
One line from Alicia stands out: “You shouldn’t have to break down the door to your own house. If the door stays locked regardless of what keys you use, the house isn’t yours!”
On production, Alicia notes the importance of balance: “It doesn’t sound like just Alicia’s song or just Gabba’s song. It very clearly sounds like an equal collaboration.”
The duo debuted ‘Fall’ live at Spur Labs at Salu Salo on 2 August, with Gabba calling the experience “refreshing and eye-opening.” He adds, “I’d love to keep exploring that — working with other musicians I admire and getting the chance to pick their brains and create something together.”
