NDP 2025 is shaping up to be a musical spectacle of epic proportions, bringing together more than 39 artistes and 3,000 performers across the Padang and Marina Bay. Framed around a forward-looking narrative of unity, hope, and belonging, this year’s National Day Parade pays tribute to Singapore’s 60-year journey with inclusive performances, intergenerational stories, and reimagined national songs that speak to the heart of who we are as a nation. Hosting the evening are Joakim Gomez, Sonia Chew, Ebi Shankara, and Siti Khalijah, with William Xavier—affectionately known as Mr X—returning as the iconic “Voice of NDP.”
Pre-Parade
The pre-parade segment, titled Makin’ Our Way, opens with a first-of-its-kind musical film directed by Benjamin Kheng. Set to an original NDP song of the same name, the film stars the four hosts and features 59 dancers from ITE and 100 TOUCH performers, leading audiences from their homes and Marina Bay to the Padang. This transitions seamlessly into a live performance, followed by the exhilarating Jump of Unity, where the Red Lions and Republic of Singapore Navy’s Naval Divers make simultaneous descents into the Padang and Marina Bay. The segment concludes with Our Singapore Wish, where Singaporeans share their hopes for the future, accompanied by stirring performances from the Combined Schools Band and Combined Choir made up of students from Tanjong Katong, West Spring, Yuhua Secondary, Greendale Secondary, and Voices of Singapore.
Act One
Act One, Our People, Our Diversity, kicks off with the emotionally-charged theme song 'Here We Are', written by Charlie Lim and Chok Kerong, and performed by Charlie himself alongside Kit Chan. Their duet reflects Singapore’s enduring spirit and invites reflection on what home truly means. Ramli Sarip follows with a spoken-word rendition of the National Anthem, joined by Tosh Zhang, Shye, and Pallavi in a moment of shared reverence. The act then bursts into a kaleidoscope of sound and colour with a large-scale musical showcase featuring performers from Republic Polytechnic and Martial House. Celebrating the vibrancy of Singapore’s multicultural fabric, the act includes a star-studded lineup: Ramli Sarip, Tosh Zhang, Pallavi, Shye, ABANGSAPAU, Tay Kewei, Yung Raja, Zadon, Lynnette Seah, Churen Li, and Electrico.
Act Two
Shifting to a more introspective tone, Act Two, Our Future, Our Aspirations, unfolds under a starry visual aesthetic, evoking a dreamlike atmosphere. Linying delivers a soul-stirring performance of her original song 'I Will Walk With You', encouraging Singaporeans to reflect on their hopes and dreams. Rising talent Heema Izzati makes her NDP solo debut with Charlie Lim’s poignant 'Room at the Table', a heartfelt call for kindness and inclusion. The act also introduces eight visually arresting floats designed by artists with disabilities, split between land and water, transforming the Marina Bay skyline with stunning projections. Performers from SOKA Gakkai Singapore, Greendale Secondary, Voices of Singapore, Pathlight School, and the Diverse Abilities Dance Collective (Maya Dance Theatre) bring these dreams to life.
Act Three
Act Three, Our Resilience, Our Spirit, honours the strength of community and the bonds between generations. National treasure Dick Lee takes to the skies—literally—singing 'We Will Get There' from a helium-filled balloon at the Padang. In a powerful cross-venue duet, Rahimah Rahim and Benjamin Kheng perform 'Not Alone', with Rahimah at the Padang and Benjamin performing from Marina Bay aboard a mobile floating stage alongside dancers from the Music and Drama Company. This act is bolstered by 401 performers from the People’s Association and features vibrant coloured cloths symbolising the individual threads that weave Singapore’s community together.
Act Four
The final act, Act Four, Our Unity, Our Strength, ties together the night’s themes under the banner of the NDP 2025 theme, Majulah Singapura. With 398 performers from the Ministry of Education, plus SMU Samba Masala, MINDS, Extraordinary People, STNY Brothers, and ITE dancers, the act showcases a synchronised drumming display performed simultaneously across Padang and Marina Bay. The show reaches its emotional peak with a nationwide sing-along of NDP classics such as 'Stand Up For Singapore', 'We Are Singapore', 'Where I Belong', and 'Count on Me', set against a breathtaking SG60 fireworks display. Guitar virtuoso Addey and Electrico frontman Dave bring the show to a rousing close, reminding us that while we’ve come far, the journey ahead is ours to shape—together.
