On 18 July, Brandon Khoo will make history as the first Singaporean drummer to present a masterclass at a drum convention in the United States, taking the stage at the Music City Drum Show in Nashville.

The milestone appearance places Khoo among an international roster of drum educators and performers at one of America’s fastest-growing percussion events, marking a major moment not just for the artist, but for the wider Southeast Asian drumming scene.

Known for his expressive playing style and genre-spanning versatility, Khoo has built an international following through performances, collaborations, and widely viewed educational drum content across social media platforms.

At the Nashville clinic, the Singaporean drummer will present a performance-driven masterclass exploring groove development, phrasing, musicality, and practical techniques for modern drummers. Drawing from decades of experience across rock, metal, and pop, the session will also feature insights from his original compositions and touring experiences.

“I’m deeply honored to represent Singapore and Southeast Asia at the Music City Drum Show,” Khoo shared. “Nashville is one of the world’s great music cities, and it means a lot to bring my voice as a drummer and educator from our region to this stage.”

Khoo’s appearance is supported by several leading percussion brands he endorses, including Mapex Drums, Evans Drumheads, TRX Cymbals, Vater Drumsticks, and Audix Microphones.

Beyond the clinic stage, Khoo has collaborated with artists such as Emil Chau and Richie Chen, as well as Grammy-winning musicians like Kiko Loureiro of Megadeth and Angra. His recordings have also featured virtuoso musicians including Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater and Billy Sheehan of Mr. Big.
