Presented by Voices - A Festival of Song happening from 4 to 7 December, this crossover sees two local powerhouses collide as they deliver a performance stemming from the celebration of music. As MICappella brings their unbeatable pop-rock flair that meets the impeccable showmanship and talent from one of Singapore's most celebrated vocal collectives, the show celebrates creativity, collaboration, and the growth of the local music scene.

Prior to this crossover, MICappella held Sing On 唱在一起 which also aimed to draw on the power of music to spark a sense of unity and togetherness within people. The sold-out community project encouraged everyday Singaporeans, who enjoyed singing in the comfort of their own homes and rocking out and having full-fledged bathroom concerts, to spread their wings during this workshop and rediscover their passion for singing alongside one of the nation’s most decorated vocal collectives.
Calin Wong, MICappella’s Co-Music Director, expresses the sentiment behind developing such a programme as she muses, “There is a special energy and magic that happens when a group of people sing together with love and passion, and it's an experience that is unforgettably enjoyable. Sing On 唱在一起 aims to create that electricity and connect people in this meaningful event.”
Sing On 唱在一起 is not the only initiative that MICappella has launched in order to spread the joy of music and bring people together. In early September, the vocal band took up an invite to lead an educational showcase in Beijing. Through workshops with students and educators, the group fostered vocal creativity and teamwork, reaffirming their belief in music’s power to bridge cultures and generations.
“Our time in Beijing reminded us that the joy of music transcends borders,” shares Peter Huang, MICappella’s Co-Music Director. “It was incredible to see how people connected through song. That experience strengthened our resolve to build similar bridges back home. Sing On 唱在一起, Beijing and The Crossover may seem like separate milestones, but they are all part of one journey — the journey of connection.”
Digging deep and unlocking the various abilities that music has and harnessing those powers for a good cause has become the core of MICappella's mission. As they spread the message of connection, enriching communities through music, they are definitely ready to create another milestone in this journey with MICappella x The Island Voices: The Crossover.
