Known for her 4-octave vocal range, sensual tone, and genre-blurring artistry, Celine delivers a deeply introspective track that showcases her evolution as a vocalist, songwriter and producer. Following her rebrand from WANYI, this new project signals a fresh sonic direction, infused with vulnerability, empowerment, and her distinctive sound.
From the very first note, 'shadow of you' captivates listeners with its dreamy production and emotionally charged lyricism. Working with renowned international producer Jacob Ray (Joji, NIKI, Keshi) on this record, Celine’s one-of-a-kind tonality glides effortlessly through the lush harmonies and moody melodies that wrap around themes of loss, self-discovery, and moving on from past relationships.
"I wrote this song aiming to capture the feeling of spiraling and being lost, as well as the repetitive yet non-linear process of moving on from a past relationship. ‘shadow of you’ is about knowing a relationship is over but being unable to get the person’s essence and voice out of your head," shares Celine.
"Self-discovery has also been a significant recurring theme in my life these past few years – learning who I am on my own, understanding what I think and feel without the “shadow” of other people’s opinions and judgments, and recognising which beliefs belong to me and which belong to others."
