Ding Yi Music Company’s 'Chamber Soiree 2024' raises over half million for Chinese chamber music

Ding Yi Music Company’s Chamber Soiree 2024, held on 14 October at PARKROYAL Collection Marina Bay, raised $510,888 to support Chinese chamber music in Singapore. Attended by over 250 guests, including Emeritus Senior Minister Mr Goh Chok Tong and Senior Parliamentary Secretary Mr Eric Chua, the event celebrated the company’s mission to elevate Chinese chamber music. The evening’s performances, inspired by the jasmine flower, included special moments like a vocal performance by Patron Mrs Goh Chok Tong and a standout appearance by visually impaired vocalist Claire Teo, guest-conducted by Mr Eric Chua.

The funds raised will support Ding Yi’s cultural efforts, ensuring the continued growth of Chinese chamber music in Singapore’s arts scene. “The overwhelming support from tonight’s event not only strengthens our mission but also reflects the growing appreciation for this art form in Singapore,” said Mr Lau Kam Yuen, Chairman of Ding Yi’s Board. The evening highlighted the company’s commitment to nurturing young talents and promoting Chinese cultural heritage.

A major announcement of the night was Ding Yi’s new residency program for special needs artists, designed to foster inclusivity within the arts community. This initiative will provide resources, mentorship, and a platform for artists with special needs to develop their talents, demonstrating the company’s dedication to diversity and accessibility in the arts. The program reinforces the belief that music can transcend boundaries and connect people of all abilities.
