The highly anticipated 6th Ding Yi Chinese Chamber Music Festival, themed Our Footsteps, will unfold from 12 to 15 December at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. This celebration of artistry and culture, hosted by Ding Yi Music Company, highlights local and regional talents alongside international ensembles, embracing the evolution of Chinese chamber music.
Local acts lead the way with the Singapore Teochew Ensemble showcasing the vibrant heritage of Teochew music. Their authentic performances reflect Singapore’s rich cultural tapestry, blending traditional and modern sounds. Another highlight is AcceleRUANdo, a promising Singaporean ensemble, which will be featured in fringe activities from 13 to 15 December.
The festival also welcomes international ensembles, including Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble (Hong Kong), C-Camerata (Taiwan), the 'Bows and Strings’ Dance' Erhu Ensemble (China) and Hunix Bowed-String Ensemble (Malaysia). These groups will explore diverse folk traditions and innovative expressions of Chinese chamber music.

Fringe performances, workshops, and an insightful online summit complement the ticketed concerts, showcasing the fusion of tradition and innovation. The grand finale, World Reunion, will unite all participating ensembles in a harmonious celebration of artistry, led by Festival Director Tsung Yeh and Festival Artist Yang Xue.
