Mediacorp set to premiere adaptation of hit South Korean mystery singer game show 'I Can See Your Voice'

Get ready for the thrilling debut of Mediacorp’s highly anticipated adaptation of the hit South Korean mystery singer game show I Can See Your Voice! Premiering on 13 January 2025, the exciting variety programme promises the perfect blend of suspense, comedy and spectacular stage acts, all in one.

Hosted by Mediacorp 987 personality Joakim Gomez and Bloomr.SG MCN Exclusive Creator Munah Bagharib, this 10-episode series will feature a total of 60 mystery singers, handpicked through auditions held earlier this year. In order to avoid being eliminated by celebrity contestants, the mystery singers must either prove their singing prowess or cleverly conceal their lack of vocal talent.

Meanwhile, using reasoning and intuition, celebrity contestants must deduce the mystery singers’ musical capabilities and weed out the bad singers across multiple rounds, working towards the ultimate goal of retaining a good singer as the last person standing. Along the way, a panel of resident celebrity detectives including Benjamin Kheng, Gurmit Singh, Najip Ali and Xixi Lim, together with various guest celebrity detectives each week, will provide commentaries that will either aid or mislead celebrity contestants in their decisions.

Each episode features five thrilling rounds, starting with “First Impressions and 0.3 Seconds,” where the week’s six mystery singers and their stage monikers will be revealed. Celebrity contestants must make quick decisions based on a brief first look and a 0.3-second video clip offering clues about each mystery singer's background and vocal abilities. Celebrity contestants will eliminate one suspected bad singer based on their instincts.

In round two, “Lip Sync Challenge,” the celebrity contestants will select three mystery singers they suspect to be bad singers for a lip sync showdown. One of the three will be eliminated. The remaining two mystery singers will then face off with their own lip sync performances, and by the end of the round, only three remain.

Round three, “Unlock My Life and Evidence,” takes the game to the next level. Celebrity contestants will be shown video backstories of the remaining mystery singers and select one who must provide evidence supporting their claims. This round will see the elimination of another singer, leaving just two contenders.

The showdown reaches its climax in the “Interrogation” round, where celebrity contestants will finally hear the true voice of one of the last two mystery singers. They will have 30 seconds to ask questions before eliminating one more suspected bad singer. The final mystery singer moves on to the “Finale” round, where they will perform a duet with either a celebrity contestant or one of the celebrity detectives. The identity of the last mystery singer is revealed: is he/she a talented vocalist or a master of deception? Regardless of the outcome, the final mystery singer walks away with a $10,000 cash prize. All 10 winning mystery singers throughout the season will also stand a chance to drive away in a brand-new Nissan Leaf car!

“We didn’t just adapt I Can See Your Voice – we gave it a bold, dynamic twist to captivate our audiences” said Virginia Lim, Chief Content Officer, Mediacorp. “The show is packed with intriguing twists and surprises that will keep viewers guessing.  We are blown away by the strong showcase of raw performing talent among our mystery singers and can’t wait to bring this exciting game show to screens in 2025.”
