In Tunggu Sekejap: The P. Ramlee Suite, WILD RICE delivers a masterful homage to the legendary P. Ramlee, reimagining his timeless songs through a contemporary orchestral lens. Running from 15 to 31 May at The Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre, this production is a harmonious blend of music, theatre, and film that resonates deeply.

Julian Wong, one of Singapore’s most outstanding music arrangers and directors, has re-composed nine of P. Ramlee’s classics—including 'Azizah', 'Getaran Jiwa', and 'Tunggu Sekejap'—into a three-movement suite. Performed by the 30-member chamber orchestra re: mix under the baton of Foo Say Ming, the suite captures the essence of Ramlee’s music while infusing it with fresh, intricate orchestral textures.

Directed by Ivan Heng, the production seamlessly weaves together live music, iconic film clips, and biographical anecdotes, offering a multifaceted exploration of P. Ramlee’s legacy. Actor Fadhli Ramlee portrays the titular icon, engaging in dialogues with Wong that provide audiences with intimate insights into Ramlee’s life and artistry.

This concert is more than a nostalgic journey; it’s an invitation for both longtime fans and newcomers to experience the enduring brilliance of P. Ramlee’s work.
