BigO may be defunct, but the stoied legacy Singapore's first independent rock magazine continues to live on. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the pioneering publication, and local organisers Neonpulse are planning to celebrate that landmark by throwing a massive two-day gig that honours the magazine's storied countercultural roots.

Taking place on 12-13 April (from 12PM to 8PM) at Blackbird, Gillman Barracks (8 Lock Rd), this exciting weekender will feature some of the most influential underground and alternative bands to have come out of Singapore's independent music scene over the last four decades.
Day One's lineup includes pop-punk trailblazers Plainsunset, indie rock darlings Great Spy Experiment, garage surf punk bandits Force Vomit, Singapore's first all-girl hardcore band Obstacle Upsurge, alternative rock legends Typewriter and dream pop veterans The Mother.
Day Two continues with more legendary acts such as Singapore's earliest punk/metal band Opposition Party, shoegaze icons Astreal and Disko Biscuit, beloved rock 'n' roll quartet The Pinholes, Vedic metal vanguards Rudra, and seminal indie rockers The Oddfellows.
