This past weekend marked a milestone in Singapore hip-hop as 22 Malay rappers from Temasek Hip Hop came together for 'Bangkit', a powerful new track celebrating unity, heritage, and lyrical fire. The collaborative effort is officially earned a spot in the Singapore Book of Records for “Most Malay Rappers Featured in a Single Mixtape”.
The mixtape brings together a dynamic lineup of artists — from trailblazers to emerging voices — including Pat Machima, Zul Mystroe, Young Khalifa, Poetic Maleeka, Kamarxkazie, Flique, Arissa Zara, Eriy Ryzale, Dilliqeez, Kim$, Atrez, Sang Chita, Lee Rocka, Emma Darwisyah, I.Q., L.Mi, Far Puisi, Phazz, A.T.Y.M.E., Yun, and Fyz Jiggy.
Standouts include rising talent Arissa Zara, one of the youngest MCs in the crew, and Lee Rocka, the sole non-Malay rapper in the mix, who spits entirely in Malay — a nod to the genre’s inclusive power in Singapore’s multicultural scene.
The track’s roots go back to September 2024, when Amyr Abadawn, Pat Machima, and Sang Chita began rallying the local scene. Through coordination hurdles and scheduling conflicts, the project was pushed forward by sheer passion — culminating in 'Bangkit' (Malay for “Rise”).
The recording took place at Exuism Record, with technical support from Magix Mpire Studio and creative direction by Koolfellerz Group. The music video, shot at Blackbook Studio and Arab Street over three days, weaves raw energy with cultural backdrop.
“This isn’t just a song — it’s a movement, a statement, and a memory in the making,” says Amyr Abadawn.
