The Island Voices recently represented their country at Vokal.Total 2024 - International A Cappella Competition held in Graz, Austria from 16 to 20 July.
Singapore's celebrated a cappella group secured the Gold Medal first runners-up position, as well as the special award for Most Powerful Soloist in their category during the prestigious 4-day festival - which featured performances from groups representing over 19 nations - including Austria, Taipei, Belgium, Japan, Germany, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Slovenia, and more.
The Island Voices performed wowed audiences with renditions of distincty Singaporean tunes - such as 'Singai Naadu' and original song 'Fade Away' (written by band member Narysal) - that showcased their both their cultural heritage and musical ability.

The group - consisting of members Elsa Mickayla, Emmelline, Owen Li, RHAUN, Narysal, Jayesh Melvani, Benjamin Yeo, and Mcquin Yip (who won Best Soloist) - were hailed for their groundbreaking arrangements and compelling vocal performances. They were also joined by special guest Peter Huang of MICappella, who performed as their vocal percussionist for the competition.
This award-winning ensemble's innovative approach to a cappella has earned them widespread acclaim, transforming traditional vocal music into something truly extraordinary.
