'Bunker By Night' transforms Singapore’s WWII-era Battlebox with art, music and late-night performances

The historic Battlebox, Singapore’s only operational WWII-era bunker, will be transformed into an experimental performance space for three consecutive Saturday nights starting 24 August. The series, titled Bunker By Night, as part of the Singapore Night Festival, invites a range of multi-disciplinary artists to take over the underground chambers, blending history with contemporary art and music.

The series begins with a performance by Rizman Putra and SAtheCollective, who will activate the bunker’s subterranean spaces. The following week, DJs Intriguant and Itch will host Singapore’s only late-night party in an underground bunker, bringing electronic beats to the Fortress Plotting and Engine rooms. The final night features a genre-defying collaboration between musician Anise and Butoh dancer XUE, offering a unique fusion of music and dance.
