During the event, concert-goers can expect an experience akin to forest bathing, a practice where one relaxes by being immersed in nature. Highlights include a new piece presented by guqin artist Zhong Zhi Yue, a showcase of traditional Chinese musical instruments, compositions by Yii Kah Hoe and John Sharpley, Quek See Yee and Ferry's art installations, and soundscape from Chong Li-Chuan.
In a press release, ECOncert's creative director, Wong De Li, Dedric, explained the concert's concept: "Years ago, I encountered a profound piece of art at the ArtScience museum. It depicted an iceberg in the ocean, but upon closer examination, it revealed itself as a floating plastic bag. I hope to change the perception that music can also wield powerful messaging tools, besides providing pure entertainment and relaxation."
"Drawing inspiration from the age-old tradition of Chinese music praising Mother Nature, I aspire that through our music, we can bring awareness to a social message of human's responsibility to protect our beloved Mother Nature," he continued.
ECOncert will also feature stage direction from homegrown theatre practitioner Ang Xiao Ting.
