Flame of the Forest to hold music production show ‘PUPA’ in January 2024

Flame of the Forest are ready to unravel a new beginning for the new year.

The homegrown instrumental band is set to perform the ethnic fusion music production PUPA at the Gateway Theatre Black Box on 12 January 2024, from 8 to 9 PM. Supported by the National Arts Council and Arts Fund, the performance will feature new compositions and a marriage of soundscapes by melding ethnic drums, Indian flutes, western fiddle, keys, and electric guitar.

PUPA is a sonic tale that grows beyond the confines of a traditional concert – involving the collaboration between electronic and visual artists, a set designer, and a storyteller – surrounding the themes of “self-realisation, empowerment, and the choice of help” through a multi-disciplinary performance.

Flame of the Forest, a powerhouse of ethnic and contemporary sounds, were founded by Kenny Tan, K.Subramanian, and Nantha Kumar in 1986, and is now under the direction of second generation musician Govin Tan

Tickets are now available for purchase via Peatix, priced at SGD 38
