Discover the depth of bittersweet emotions with ‘Happiness Hurts’ — the collaborative single by Goose 我鳥 and Taiwanese collective Night Keepers 守夜人 as they join forces for this boundary-breaking project.
The release of ‘Happiness Hurts’ comes ahead of Night Keepers' upcoming performance at Wire Entertainment on 23 November, with Goose taking the stage with them as a special guest. The introspective track is a reimagined version of the Taiwanese trailblazers' previous Mandarin single.

Goose's unique post-rock influences blend with the layered guitar arrangements and dreamlike soundscapes by Night Keepers, culminating in a pensive exploration of the hardships and hurdles that confront us in life. The ambient tune is the embodiment of the message that, while happiness has the power to neutralise sadness, there are some instances and situations where happiness itself can hurt — highlighting the contrast between the emotion being both a blessing and a curse.
The collaboration between the two uber-talented groups came about after they were introduced to each other at CLANG 克浪 Music Festival, which took place in Singapore. Goose watched Night Keepers’ performance from the audience and were deeply inspired by the atmosphere and vibe that their music created. The Singaporean hitmakers reached out to them post-show to present the possibility of working on a track together.
Goose opened up about their experience working with Night Keepers as they shared, "We feel truly honored and touched. Night Keepers’ music carries a calming power, and meeting like-minded musicians to collaborate — especially discovering that we share similar tastes — makes this connection feel particularly special to us.”

With the extremely meaningful and heartfelt message behind the powerful single and the lilting sonic soundtrack that solidifies the story of the track, ‘Happiness Hurts’ is an incredible showcase of the strengths of both bands and the fresh perspective that the blend of their styles can bring to music.
