rhyu announced as opening act for Cicada’s first headlining concert in Singapore

rhyu is set to open Cicada’s upcoming headlining concert in Singapore this December. 

On 24 November, the Taiwanese neoclassical chamber ensemble revealed rhyu as the opening guest for their Seeking the Sources of Streams show in an Instagram post.

They wrote: “We are captivated by her sweet and soulful voice. We can’t wait to share her music with you at the concert.”

Being the brains behind soulful ballads such as ‘Melt’ and ‘Love Quizzes’, rhyu, shortened from Raine Hahn Yu, has been pouring her emotions and memories into songs since she was four years old. With the intention of providing solace through her enchanting and relatable songwriting, her music is a source of comfort for listeners.

Since her debut in 2022, rhyu has garnered over 85,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and embarked on several musical milestones this year, including performing at DISTRICT M, an inaugural music festival within various areas at Marina Central, and releasing two singles – ‘It’s fine’ and ‘Kaleidoscope’. 

The homegrown singer-songwriter will be making an appearance at the Lion Studios stage on 1 December. Tickets, priced at $89, are available for purchase via Eventbrite.
