SHIGGA SHAY links with Korea's pH-1 & Japan's JP THE WAVY for multilingual anthem ‘OK CAN’ — watch

SHIGGA SHAY is taking Singapore slang global on his latest single, ‘OK CAN’. Teaming up with Korean rapper pH-1 and Japanese hip-hop star JP THE WAVY, the track brings together three of Asia’s most exciting rap voices for a high-energy collaboration that crosses borders, languages, and cultures.

Built around a hypnotic saxophone motif, ‘OK CAN’ transforms a phrase deeply rooted in Singapore and Malaysia’s everyday vocabulary into a vibrant celebration of identity and connection. Across the track, the trio move seamlessly between English, Singlish, Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, Korean, Japanese, Thai, and French, delivering a multilingual exchange that reflects the growing global reach of Asian hip-hop.

Known for blending clever wordplay with hometown storytelling, SHIGGA SHAY uses the single to spotlight the rhythm and humour of local culture while pushing it onto an international stage. The chemistry between all three artists shines throughout the release, proving how personality, flow, and energy can resonate far beyond language barriers.

Speaking about the collaboration, SHIGGA SHAY shared: “‘OK CAN’ is a phrase we hear every day. It is something we say so naturally, without even thinking because it is part of how we speak, agree and move through life in Singapore and Malaysia. I wanted this track to carry that same effortless energy. Having pH-1 and JP THE WAVY on it showed me how a simple phrase from back home can resonate far beyond where it started.”

Produced by longtime collaborator superjdoug, the single marks the third release from SHIGGA SHAY’s upcoming trilingual album, continuing his mission of amplifying Southeast Asian stories through bold, genre-bending sound.

Over the years, SHIGGA SHAY has established himself as one of Singapore’s defining hip-hop voices, from collaborating with Stefanie Sun on ‘简爱’ to releasing ‘uRight’ with Jay Park and becoming the first Singaporean artist featured on COLORSxSTUDIOS. He has also shared stages with Wu-Tang Clan and Jaden Smith, while performing at major events including Ultra Singapore and the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.

Joining him on ‘OK CAN’ are two heavyweight names in Asian hip-hop. pH-1, known for hits such as ‘365&7’ and ‘Nerdy Love’, has built a global fanbase through emotionally driven lyricism and genre-blending rap styles. Meanwhile, JP THE WAVY continues to shape Japan’s hip-hop landscape with his unmistakable flow and viral breakout hit ‘Cho Wavy De Gomenne’, while also making waves across fashion, art, and music worldwide.
