‘Halfway to Heaven’ speaks on the struggles of the process of moving on from a previous relationship. It is a word-by-word recount of a night out that kotoji had back when she was studying in London. Named after a pub she passed by, the mid-tempo rock ballad illustrates the events that occurred that night – from her attending her first Rina Sawayama concert, to hanging out with complete strangers – and how amidst all the fun she was having, she was reminded of her ex at every turn she took.
