Benjamin Kheng teams up with American pop singer Lauv for reimagining of ‘Potential’

Singaporean musician Benjamin Kheng and American pop star Lauv have joined forces for a new spin on ‘Potential’.

On 12 May, Kheng unveiled the collaboration, a reimagining of Lauv’s 2024 single, on Instagram. He also shared his excitement about teaming up with an artist he looks up to.

He wrote: “[I’ve] been covering these classics in my bedroom for years so singing it to the man himself is INSANE no one wake me up!!!”

The video features Lauv sitting on a couch singing the chorus of ‘Potential’ with Kheng playfully appearing at various sections, even falling off the couch at one point, while seamlessly harmonising with Lauv.

This release of the collaboration comes after Lauv’s recent concert in Singapore, which was held on 4 May.

This is not the first time that Kheng has worked with renowned international artists.

In April of this year, the ‘Shared Trauma’ act teamed up with K-pop girl group ITZY during their visit to Singapore, for a rendition of their hit song ‘UNTOUCHABLE’. In the collaboration, Kheng and ITZY used everyday objects, such as cups, books, a keyboard, and a fan, to recreate the popular track.
